Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - The Deloye claims straddle the Garrison Stock which is a large (4 km wide) felsic monzonitic intrusion which is weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) subaqueously deposited massive and pillowed tholeiitic basalt and volumetrically minor intercalated interflow sediment of the Archean Kinojevis Group. The Kinojevis Group supracrustal assemblage in the area consist of an east northeast striking, steeply dipping and uniformly south facing monclinal sequence which occupies part of the north limb of the east striking and east plunging Blake River synclinorium. The property is about 3.3 km south of the the structurally complex Porcupine-Destor Fault zone. Most bedrock underling the Deloye claims in mantle by thick and locally complex Quaternary age ice contact and glaciolacustrine shallow water deposits.
