Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Yellow to green colored, fine to medium grained, well bedded quartz-sericite schist which was interpreted to be interbedded siltstone and greywacke. These schists host quartz-carbonate veinlets and stockworks which are less than 1 cm in width.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Diamond drilling by Canamax Resources in a largely glacial drift covered area (Baker et al. 1982; Vagners and Courtney 1985; McClenaghan et al. 1988, 1987; Steele 1988) is reported (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake ) to have intersected within the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone (Jensen 1973, Jensen and Langford 1985, Jensen and Baker 1986, Johnstone and Steele 1989) yellow to green colored, fine to medium grained, well bedded quartz-sericite schist which was interpreted to be interbedded siltstone and greywacke. These schists host quartz-carbonate veinlets and stockworks which are less than 1 cm in width. Carbonate and pyrite are reported to occur marginal to the stringers. The stringers are generally preferentially oriented parallel to 'bedding'. The best gold assays reported from the Canamax Resources drilling were from hole nos. 010-47-2 (which yielded a 1 m section averaging 1,270 ppb of gold) and 010-47-1 (which yielded a 1 m section averaging 850 ppb of gold).
