Exploration History

1949: Lobanor Gold Mines Ltd.- completed diamond drilling (DD-5-5129 ft). Of these, 2 DD-1847 ft were spotted on ground which was later to become part of the Canadian Nickel/Argentex property. 1960-1961: Revere Mining Corp. Ltd. - magnetometer; resistivity EM and DD-12-5966 ft. 1981: Canadian Nickel Co. Ltd. staked hundreds of claims in the Holloway Township area and completed magnetometer and EM surveys. 1984-85: The R.J. Kasner Co. Ltd. optioned 50 contiguous claims from Canadian Nickel. Argentex Resource Exploration Corp. commissioned an appraisal of the Kasner/Canadian Nickel Co. claims to be made and, on the basis of this appraisal, acquired the Kasner interest in the Canadian Nickel property. Argentex Resource Exploration completed mag, VLF and HLEM, a geological survey, a geochemical (humus) survey, trenching, outcrop stripping, 26-RCDD, and collected basal till samples via backhoe. Argentex Resource Exporation also completed DD-11-4337 ft.: Argentex Resource Exploration diamond drilled 2 deep holes (and one wedged holes) for a total of 6,740.5ft. 1984-86: Canadian Nickel Co. and Argentex Resource Exploration - DD-6-2796 ft., sampling (no assays) 1988: Argentex Resource Exploration and Sholia Resources Ltd.merged to form AXR Resources Ltd. 1989: AXR Resources, Mary Ellen Resources Ltd., and Lenora Expl. Ltd. merged to form Greater Lenora Resources Corp.

Geology Comments

Jul 28, 2016 (C Salo) - The northern part of the property is largely drift covered and tholeiitic basalt bedrock here is marginal to or within the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. The Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone in the Harker-Holloway Township area is structurally and lithologically complex, consisting of juxtaposed fault and/or shear bounded blocks up to many hundreds of metres in size, each of which may be lithologically and structurally distinct from bounding fault blocks.Metamorphosed ultramafic to felsic volcanic rocks, tuffaceous rocks, clastic and chemical sedimentary rocks and (usually felsic) intrusive rocks are all characteristic of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 28, 2016 (A Wilson) - Assays from the Revere diamond drilling returned values ranging from 0.01 to 0.02 oz/t Au across core lengths ranging from 0.5 to 5.0 ft.

Jul 28, 2016 (C Salo) - Diamond drilling in the NE pt. of the prop. by Argentex in 1984 is reported to have intervals of anomalous gold. Graphitic, sericitic fine-grained interflow sediments between footwall (northern) silicified Mg-tholeiitic basalt and hanging wall (southern) Fe-tholeiitic basalt. The highest Au tenor reported from this interflow material is from a 4.7' core section which averaged 0.055 oz Au/ton. Diamond drilling in the western part of the property by Argentex in 1984 is reported to have interval of 4.2 ft length of brecciated mafic flow material which averaged 0.01 oz Au/ton. Diamond drilling by Argentex in the NW part of the prop. (on claim 599053) in 1985 was designed to establish whether the auriferous Mattawasaga deposit mineralized zones extend at depth onto the Canadian Nickel/Argentex property. The most Mattawasaga auriferous zone (averaging 0.144 oz Au/ton along a core length of 20.2' where intersected by the Argentex diamond drilling) was interpreted to have been intersected at a down hole depth of 2,431'; the central Mattawasaga auriferous zone (averaging 0.056 ounce of Au per ton along a core length of 30.7' where intersected by the Argentex diamond drilling) was interpreted to have been intersected at a down hole depth of 2,482'; and the southernmost Mattawasaga auriferous zone (averaging 0.039 oz Au/ton along a core length of 67' where intersected by the Argentex diamond drilling) was interpreted to have been intersected at a down hole depth of 2,577'. Diamond drilling by both Revere Mining Corp. and Argentex in the eastern part of the property encountered anomalous Au tenors near or within the PDFZ in rocks variably described as varieties of brecciated clastic or chemical sediments, schists, or mafic volcanic rocks. Minerals in the drill logs to be associated with anomalous Au tenors include various developed quartz-carbpmate veins, vein tourmaline, graphite, pink feldspar, epidote, sericite, pervasive(?) silicification, pervasive carbonatization, chlorite, hematite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite. Deep diamond drilling in the west part of the property is interpreted to have intersected at depth the down dip extension of the auriferous Mattawasaga Deposit. Here, Au is associated with pyrite+chalcopyrite within varicoloured brecciated siliceous (cherty) carbonate-bearing and hematitic.
