Jun 26, 2015 (A Wilson) - The bedrock is largely covered by glacial drift. The bedrock is composed of weakly metamorphosed, east-northeast striking, steeply south dipping and south facing tholeiitic basalt and interflow metasedimentary rocks. These units are cross-cut by felsic and lamprophyre dikes.

Jun 26, 2015 (A Wilson) - Samples collected from trenches excavated by Consolidated Mining and Smelting returned assays as high as 0.18 oz./t Au; and a 12.7 ft. long trench sample assayed 0.04 oz./t Au. Visible gold was reported in some specimens. Grab samples collected by CMS Syndicated in 1959 returned assays as high as 0.43 oz./t Au. Anomalously auriferous core lengths were also reported from drill core. Assays up to 0.90 oz./t over 3 feet and 0.07 oz./t Au over 45 feet were reported by CMS Syndicate in the 1958-59 period. Assays from the 1983 Camflo Mines drilling returned values greater than 0.01 oz./t Au. DDH Mc 85-257 returned assays ranging from 0.69 oz/t Au over 1.00 m to 4.11 oz/t Au over 1.00 m within a zone described as a transitionally silicified zone.
