Exploration History

Insgar Mines Ltd. diamond drilled one hole in the 1940's. Cream Silver Mines Ltd. completed airborne geophysical surveys in 1985 and diamond drilled in the area in 1986 and 1987. This drilling intersected greater than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton across narrow core lengths in brick red granitic material. The collars of the hole which intersected anomalous gold mineralization were spotted south of what were called by Satterly (1949) the Anderson patented claims (exploration and assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake).

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (R Degagne) - No anomalous mineralization has been reported on the five patented Anderson claims (cf. Satterly 1949) although south of these claims, Cream Silver Mines intersected via diamond drilling anomalous (greater than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton) gold tenors in fractured brick red 'granite' which contained 1-2% of very fine grained fracture controlled and disseminated pyrite (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office Kirkland Lake). These anomalous gold tenors are described in the report for the Inspiration occurrence (No. 118 in OFR 5735, V.1, A. C. Bath).
