Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - The Linton claims straddle the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone in the general area where it joins the west of west northwest striking Monro/Pipestone Fault Zone. The Porcupine- Destor/Monro/Pipestone Fault Zones is complex, consist of juxtaposed lithologically and structurally distinct fault/ear bounded blocks up to several hundred metres in size which in aggregate comprise a zone several kilometres in width. The regional metamorphic grade in the area is greenschist of lower metamorphic facies except marginal to felsic intrusions, where amphibolite grade contact metamorphic aureoles may be developed. North of the PDFZ, basement rock consist mainly of modernly north dipping and north facing volcanic, volcanoclastic, and sedimentary rocks, of the calc alkalic (Archean) Hunter Mine Group and younger, komatiitic and tholeiitic volcanic and intrusive rocks of the Archean Stoughton- Roquemaure Group. South of the PDFZ mainly northeast striking, steeply south dipping, and south facing tholeiitic basalt of the Archean Kinojevis Group occupies the north limb of the east striking and east plunging Blake River Synclinorium. The PDFZ is a regionally nonhomogeneous assemblage of juxtaposed fault/sheared bounded blocks, each of which may be distinct structurally and lithologically form the surrounding blocks. Mafic to ultramafic domains believed to represented faulted blocks of Stoughton-Roquemaure Group rocks as well as clastic, tuffaceous and chemical sediments and Interbedded alkalic volcanic rocks are also represented with the PDFZ. Intrusive rocks, including dikes of syenite, syenodiorite, granodiorite and monzonite, occur within the PDFZ and often are enclosed within extensive alkali, CO2, and H2O metasomatic aureoles. Garrison Stock which is a large (4 km wide) felsic monzonitic intrusion which is weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) subaqueously deposited massive and pillowed tholeiitic basalt and volumetrically minor intercalated interflow.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - The mineralization is spatially associated with the location major 070 striking and subvertically dipping fault/shear developed between metamorphosed sediments to the south and metamorphosed komatiitic and tholeiitic volcanic rocks to the north. Jonpol Expl. intersected anomalously auriferous ( averaging more than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton) material associated with pyritic alteration halos developed around narrow fractures and or quart veinlets where they intersect magnetite-hematite iron formation in hinge areas of fold developed in dominantly clastic sediment. A felsic syenitic intrusive body of unspecific size and orientation occurs south of the auriferous zone on Linton claims. Exploded in outcrop about 300 m approximately along strike west of the subcropping mineralized zone delineated by Jonpol is variably carbonatized greywacke that is intruded by Lamprophyre dikes.
