Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - The Brydges Gold Mines claims straddle the locally east striking Porcupine-Destor Fault (PDFZ). The PDFZ is a regionally nonhomogeneous assemblage of juxtaposed fault/shear bounded blocks, each of which may be distinct structurally and lithologically from surrounding blocks.. mafic to ultramafic domains believe to represent faulted blocks of Stoughton- Roquemaure Group rocks as well as clastic, tuffaceous and chemical sediments and Interbedded alkalic (generally sodic series) volcanic rocks are also represented within the PDFZ. Intrusive (often sodic series) rocks including dikes of syenite, syenodiorite, granodiorite, and monzonite occur withing the PDFZ and often are enclosed within extensive alkali element, CO2, and H2O metasomatic aureoles. The Garrison Stock is a large (4 km wide) felsic monzonitic intrusion located immediately south of the PDFZ and the Brydges Gold Mine claims. Conglomeratic sediments within this part of the PDFZ are reported to contain clast of syenodiorite, granodiorite, monzonite, chert, jasper, ironstone, and mafic and ultramafic Volcanic rock.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Anomalous gold mineralization occurs as auriferous quartz veins and pyritic carbonate. Scattered anomalous gold tenors in pyritic syenite, intruding variably brecciated hematitic wack, and carbonatized and sericitized argillite. Also in foliated and carbonatized mafic volcanic rocks associated with quartz and carbonate stringers, in pyritic syenite, in diorite, and in pyritic carbonates associated with grey carbonate stringers. Vein is reported to have an average of 0.03 ounce of gold per ton and 2.32 ounce silver per ton.
