Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (M Barua) - The quarry face of this 152m-square quarry varies fro 5.5 to 12 m in height . This is due to variation in purity, presence of reef-like masses containing argillaceous streaks and dip of about 11 degrees in various directions. The stone for making lime was taken from the stratified beds, which consist mostly of buff-grey, fine-grained, hard, porous, pure dolomite.
