Feb 28, 2017 (A Wilson) - Marl underlies the lake at a shallow depth on a broad fringe along the nort and east shores. Low wooded ground to the northwest may also be underlain by marl.

Feb 28, 2017 (A Wilson) - Marl of Habermehl Lake is of rather poor quality. A 14-foot section analysed 78.9% CaCO3, 2.8% MgCO3, 0.20% Fe2O3, and 1.84% insoluble. The dry powder is grey-buff in colour with a low brightness. The crude marl is 72.2% water; 465 pounds of dry marl are contained in one cubic yard of the crude
