Feb 28, 2017 (A Wilson) - A single lift in this crushed stone quarry exposes up to 15 m of the Wiarton/Colpoy Bay Member of the Middle Silurian Amabel Formation. This member conisists of a single unit of light blue-grey, medium- to thick bedded, fine- to medium-crystalline dololstone. A thin (6 m) zone at the top of the quarry section is rust-stained and fractured, probably due to surface weatherin. Quarternary overburden thickness around the quarry is less than 1 m. The dolostone is medium to thick bedded, blue-grey mottling varies in intensity from 5 to 90%. The upper 6 m is weathered to tan-brown colour, is fractured and thinly bedded.
