Feb 27, 2017 (A Wilson) - Charles Lake occupies an area of 140 acres. The shores are low and stony and tall cane reeds are common around the shallow fringe. Marl may be found in a small (45 acres) lake one mile to the north in lot 23 concessions 25 and 26.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 27, 2017 (A Wilson) - Charles Lake marl is of poor quality. A 6-foot section analysed 64.6 % CaCO3, 3.5% MgCO3, 1.03% Fe2O3 and 12.64% insoluable. The dry powder is grey with a very low brightness. Oil absorption is high. The crude marl is 75.2% waterl 420 pounds of dry marl are available in one cubic yard of the crude.
