Oct 05, 2010 (A Wilson) - Sampling by the discoverers yielded assays up to 10% Cu and from 2-4 oz/t Ag with traces of gold. The copper bearing belt is 30 to 50 feet wide and has been traced for 1000 feet. Average ore from the dump reportedly returned assays of 4% Cu and two samples yielded 20.5% Cu and traces on Ni and Au (samples taken in 1899). Grab samples collected by Satterly in 1941 returned 1.09% cu over 12 ft from pit no. 1; values up to 0.02 oz/t Au were returned from grab samples collected from Pit No. 6. Assays from diamond drill holes completed by Waterway Copper Mines Limited returned Cu values up to 4.11% and 0.41 oz/t Ag over 1.2 feet in DDH No 5. The best gold values from the Waterway Copper drilling returned 0.01 oz/t Au over 5 ft. Waterway Copper Mines DDH No. 2 returned 2.01% Cu and 0.30 oz/t Ag over 48.5 feet. Grab samples collected from the No. 2 shaft by the OGS in 1984 returned 1.00% Cu and 6.40% Zn; 4.3% Cu and 7.6% Zn. The property reportedly produced 192,000 pounds of copper between 1903 and 1904.
