Lithology Comments

Dec 17, 2024 (Sheree Hinz) - The area is underlain by interbedded quartzite and argillite of the Gowganda Formation which have been folded about an east-trending anticlinal axis. The metasediments have been intruded by Nipissing Diabase dikes and sills, and a large Keweenawan olivine diabase dike which crosses the property in a northwesterly direction east of the mine. South of the shaft there is a U-shaped drag fold in the metasediments, the axis of which strikes easterly and plunges 65 degrees E. Gold-bearing quartz veins are associated with this folding and lie along the contact between quartzite and diabase.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 17, 2024 (Sheree Hinz) - McFarlane Lake Mining completed an exploration program in 2022. Samples from mineralized quartz veins gave returns of 0.819 g/t Au to 10.9 g/t Au. These samples were collected from pyrite and arsenopyrite bearing quartz veins that displayed pinch and swell structures hosted within metapelitic sediments and meta-sandstone. The highest assay from the first fall program was from a sample that assayed 10.9 g/t Au, collected from a massive arsenopyrite vein hosted within a 20cm wide quartz vein.

Mar 31, 2023 (Q Unknown) - Location: property referred to as ‘A’ in GDIF 152. Letter B 200 m S combined with this MDI. Albitization: possible albitization nearby because of weathered ankerite rhombs in dump (B. Gates, personal comm.)
