Exploration History

During the period of active exploration for Uranium which followed the Blind River discoveries, Porter Township was almost completely staked, and several companies worked in the area. No mineral discoveries are know to have come from the exploration activity of that time. However, recent trenching through overburden from a small sulphide bearing outcrop has resulted in samples which have returned significant silver assays. 1962: Ferco Mines Ltd. obtained a purchase option on the property.
