Aug 10, 2010 (A Wilson) - An east-trending quartz-carbonate vein lies at the contact between a partly altered Nipissing gabbro and hornfelsed calcareous siltstones of the Espanola Formation. The vein is approximately12 m wide and has been traced for several hundred metres. Cobaltite and pyrite are found in a dolomite tremolite-actinolite skarn zone while the remaining sulphides are present in a 10-15 m wide quartz-carbonate vein.

Aug 10, 2010 (A Wilson) - Pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite are found within the vein whereas cobaltite is found as euhedral crystals up to 2.5 cm in diameter in actinolite amphibolite along the walls of the vein. A 2.3 ft section of drill core from Dauphin Iron Mines DDH 2 returned 0.10% Cu and 0.14% Ni. A high grade grab asmple collected by the OGS in 1976 reuned 9.16%/ci abd 3.56% Ni. Grab samples collected by G. Salo in 1999 returned the following values: up to 1145 ppb Pd, up to 570 ppb Au, up to 1.63% Cu, up to 0.69% Ni and up to 0.54% Co.
