Jan 14, 2014 (A Wilson) - Contact deposits are typically pyrrhotite-rich, Ni-Cu ores hosted by depressions or embayments at the base of the SIC at or near the contact with NeoArchean or Paleoproterozoic basement. Contact ores are hosted in a basal igneous “sublayer norite”, a discontinuous layer of mafic-ultramafic inclusion-bearing norite to quartz diorite up to 700 m thick and/or “footwall breccia”, an igneous to metamorphic textured breccia locally developed along the footwall interface between the sublayer and footwall rocks.

Jan 14, 2014 (A Wilson) - The ore ran 6.00% Ni and 1.00% Cu circa 1899. As the deposit was mined the copper content increased and the refining process did not produce the anticipated results. Mining re-commenced on the property as an open pit mine in 1995-1997, and 2006-2012.
