Access Description: The Kettyle Occurrence is located within the Greater City of Sudbury area, in the central-north area of Waters Township. The area is crosscut by two east to west trending main roads: the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17) and highway 658. The occurrence is located on the north side of the Old Creighton road approximately 1.5 kilometres east from Highway 144 (Northwest By-Pass). (GDIF144)
1890:Charles Kettyle staked claims in the township of Waters, on lots 5 and 6 in the 6th concession. The vein can be traced 180 metres and is from 50 to 70 centimetres wide. A large part of the gold was in sulphides. The rock is hornblende slate on both sides. (NSP011, Royal Commission, 1890, p. 122)
