Exploration History

1880: Henry Ranger - discovered copper on this property, pitting. 1887: R. McConnell – property patented. 1899-1914: Mond Nickel Company – quarry opened on large quartz vein. Material used for siliceous lining of converters at the Victoria smelter. 1887: The claims were patented by R. McConnell. 1899: The property was acquired by the Mond Nickel Company which later opened up a quarry on a large quartz vein. This has been mined to some extent to provide the silicious lining of converters at the Victoria smelter.
