Access Description: Access is via highway 69 south to Estaire, turning east on Nepewassi Lake Road. Continut to Vacatinland campground boat launch. Navigate easterly 9.5 km to bay on north shore, approximately 1.4 km past Green Island. Traverse NW 10 km on trail to base of quarry.



Exploration History

1947-48: Canadian Flint and Spar Company - 150 tons of feldspar stockpiled. 1977: Indusmin Limited - mappping, trenching, DD (3-60 ft)

Lithology Comments

Feb 05, 2009 (A Wilson) - The occrrence is described as a pegmatite with orthoclase, albite, quartz and biotite. The dike strikes northwesterly, dips subvertically, is up to 45 mt wide and can be traced along strike for nearly 150 m. The workings consist of an open-cut about 30 feet long, up to 10 feet wide and with an 18 foot face. The central apart of th eopen-cut is relatively rich in quartz, but elsewhere, the dike consists mainly of coarse-grained alkalic feldspar crystals up to a few feet in size with minor intergrown quartz and biotite forming books up to 1 foot across.
