Dec 17, 2020 (Sheree Hinz) - The 1923 shaft was sunk near the contact of the Gowganda Formation wacke and a Nipissing gabbro intrusion where numerous quartz and quartz-carbonate veins occur.

Dec 17, 2020 (Sheree Hinz) - There is considerable carbonate, breunnerite, and pyritized material on the dump. Some high-grade ore was reportedly taken from the underground workings. Fissures containing calcite and scales of specularite occur in the diabase. Native gold was reportedly found.
