Mar 11, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - Sphalerite-galena-chalcopyrite mineralization occurs in quartz veins and lenses in volcanic fragmental rocks. The most mineralized quartz vein at the Foisey Occurrence is approximately 1 m thick and is within an igneous-textured rock that forms the matrix of the Basal Member of the Onaping Formation at this locality. Sphalerite, galena, and chalcopyrite compose approximately 90%, 9%, and 1 % by volume of the sulphide minerals, respectively. A chemical analysis of a specimen of the vein indicates high values of Zn and Pb and minor amounts of Ag and Au. An analysis of the host rock indicates a low metal content. Assays from the mineralized vein show 160ppm Cu, 8.5% Zn, 22ppm Ni, 200ppm Co, 6750ppm Pb.
