At the Vermilion mine No. 4 shaft has been sunk to a depth of 1,250 feet with the main lateral work at the 600-, 750-, and 900-foot levels. To the end of 1955, total underground development was 8,970 feet. A great deal of surface and underground drilling has also been done.
