Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Limestone 1 Host
Diabase 2 Diabase Footwall

Lithology Comments

May 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - The ore body is approximately 600 feet long and with a maximum width of 120 feet. The body strikes approximately east-west and dips 60-70°N. Magnetite mineralization replaces carbonate-rich rocks of the Espanola Formation which are intruded by a diabase dike to the south. The Espanola Formation comprises thin-bedded magnesian limestone, sandy limestone and calcareous siltstone.

Mineralization Comments

May 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - Assays from Jaybee Landry's diamond drilling returned up to 53.8% Fe, 0.14% Cu over 5 feet in DDH 5. A chip sample across 4 feet in trench 2 returned 41.0% soluble Fe and 0.30% Cu. The magnetite is distinctly layered at various scales and the layering is conformable to the contacts and the bedding in the host rocks. Lesser amounts of hematite occur adjacent to the hanging wall and footwall and along fractures in the magnetite body. Chalcopyrite occurs as disseminations in the magnetite rich parts of the body.
