Exploration History

Archean banded iron formation mineralization: subsurface vertically dipping: 1/2` magnetite / silica and chlorite bands overlain by 800'-1100' Nippissing diabase, Development:1177' deep shaft excavated, Reserves: 188,353,000 tons grading 26.70% soluable iron. 1952: Dominion Gulf Company - ground magnetometer survey. 1956-57:Lundberg Explorations Ltd. - AEM survey, EM survey;DD-22-8698.1 m. 1959: Rio Tinto Mining Company of Canada Limited - shaft sunk to a depth of 358.9 m (1177' deep shaft excavated).and did considerable lateral underground work and underground exploratory drilling.
