Supergroup: Huronian Supergroup

Geological Age: Paleoproterozoic

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - Two fissure filling carbonate veins in diabase, 1.5 feet apart and 80 feet long. The veins strike N60W, dip 87N, and contain pitchblende and copper mineralization. Radioactivity is twice background. (ODM 1969 MRC 12 P 65-66).

Vein 1 Calcite Host
Gabbro 2 Gabbro Contains

Lithology Comments

Dec 16, 2010 (A Wilson) - The showing is in a vertical shear in diabasic gabbro and is strongly radioactive. Radioactivity ceases about 45 feet from the portal but the shear zone persists to the end of the workings at 80 feet from the portal. An outcrop about 1200 feet east of the portal is strongly radioactive. Here the shear is in a syentic phase of the diabase.
