Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - Sparse chalcopyrite and pyrite are disseminated in pink and purple quartzites of the Lorrain Formation. Mineralized sediments occur a the crest of an anticline which plunges 10-30 W. Drlling suggests the possibilty of widespread mineralization, but the average copper content is well below commercial limits. Some samples contain up to 3% Cu. No details are available concerning grade and thickness of mineralized sediments. The mineralized area was tested by drilling over a strike length of 3/4 mile. (ODM 1969 MRC 12 P 66).

Lithology Comments

Dec 16, 2010 (A Wilson) - Diamond drilling intersected a sequence of pink and green argillaceous quartzite, siltstone and argillite. Limonite, hematite and carbonate are commonly observed throughout the drill hole. The sulphides are disseminated in outcrop for a strike length of over ½ mile in Johnson and Tarbutt townships and occur again at approximately the same stratigraphic level about ½ mile to the south in Tarbutt Additional Township. The mineralization lies near the top of the basal member which is overlain by argillite and siltstone. The quartzite is estimated to be about 100 feet thick.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 16, 2010 (A Wilson) - Assays from a 9 foot section of quartzite from Kennco DDH 56-14 returned 0.06% Cu over 8.6 ft. Surface grab samples collected by Aberdoon Mines returned average values of between 2.5 and 3% Cu.
