Jun 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - The No. 1 quartz vein has an average with of 5.5 feet and the No. 2 vein has an average width of 5 feet. These two veins are separated by diabase and both are intersected by three basic dikes 20-30 feet in width which dip at high angles. The workings at the Copper Bay location have a length of 1000 feet and three shafts were sunk, the deepest of which was 450 feet. The No. 1 quartz vein strikes N30°W and dips vertically. The No. 2 vein branches away from the No. 1 vein near the north end and parallels it to the south for about 1200 feet before merging with it again. Over most of this length, the two veins are separated by 100 ft of diabase.

Jun 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - C. W. Knight (ODM) notes that the No. 2 vein on the Wellington and Copper Bay sections has an average grade of 3.3% Cu for an average width of 5.5 feet. Samples usually assay only traces of gold but in a few cases gold values were up to 2.5 oz/t. Another unpublished report indicates that the average grade of the No. 1 vein was 3.8% Cu for a width of 5.5 feet. The average grade of the No. 2 vein was 2.67% Cu for a width of 4.12 feet. The No. 2 vein also returned 0.16oz/t Ag. In the Copper Bay and Wellington Sections, the No. 1 vein was mined for a length of 2500 feet and to a maximum depth of 550 feet, producing ore with an average grade of 3% Cu. A quartz stringer zone in section in greywacke was intersected on strike 900 feet to the northwest of the Copper Bay section. The intersection occurred between 304 and 314 feet at a vertical depth of 200 feet. The best assay obtained was 2.8% Cu over 1.75 feet. Production statistics for each section of the Bruce Mines property were poorly documented. Total mine production from the Bruce Mines: 47,593 tons of concentrates having an average grade of 20% derived from an estimated 400,000 tons mined (300,000 tons milled with 60% recovery); yielding 9850 tons of copper. The copper content of the ore is estimated to have been 4.5% Cu. The majority of the production came from the Copper Bay and Wellington sections of the property. Total recorded shipments of siliceous ore shipped by Mond Nickel Company Limited was 161,683 tons (MRC 12, p. 53)
