Jun 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - Quartz veins occur in a fracture zone along the contact between quartzite of the Gowganda Fm and Nipissing diabase. West of the bluff, the vein has been traced for 200 feet in three trenches but to the east, the extension of the vein is covered by overburden. The quartz vein is 6-10 feet wide, strikes N80W and dips 70-75°S. The vein has been traced for 1200 feet along strike.

Jun 25, 2010 (A Wilson) - Sketches from file 41J05SW0002 show sample results of 1.95% Cu over 2 feet., 1.75% Cu , 0.01 oz/t Au over 5 feet, and 0.10% Cu over 5 feet from veins along the north side of a trench located east of the shaft. Geochemical soil testing showed that the vein was copper-bearing to the west of the main trench, but barren to the east along the projected strike (C. Huston). Grab samples of the chalcopyrite-bearing vein returned assays between 2 and 3.25% Cu (Bruce-Presto Mines Ltd.) At surface, the quartz vein returned an average of 2.6% Cu over a length of 200 ft. and width of 8 ft. At a depth of 80 ft, a sample from a 200 ft length and 9 ft width returned 0.5% Cu, at a depth of 220 feet a sample from a 200 foot length and 7 foot width returned 0.6% Cu. At a depth of 440 feet a 200 foot strike length of vein returned only traces of copper. No chalcocite is found at depth. A grab sample collected by E. J. Leahy (OGS) in 1993 returned <0.01 oz/t Au and <0.1 oz/t Ag.
