Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - A quartz chalcopyrite pyrite hematite vein cuts Gowganda sediments, strikes E and dips 90. The vein has been traced for a length of 400 feet, and the width ranges from 2 inches to 2.5 feet. Core samples from 2 holes assayed 8.7% Cu over 2.5 feet and 1.80% Cu over 1.5 feet (File SSM-732). Two grab samples from a trench 420 feet west of Hwy. 129 were reported to assay 0.042 and 0.148% U3O8 (Files SSM-67, 68).
