Dec 07, 2012 (P Beach) - The Milliken orebody is on the south limb of the Quirke Lake trough and is considered to be an extension of the Nordic and Lacnor beds. The ore zone is a quartz pebble conglomerate of the Matinenda Formation. The property is underlain by Mississagi quartzite of the Hough Lake Group, dipping about 200N. The Noridc diabase sill-like intrusion lies east and north.

Dec 07, 2012 (A Pace) - A 3000 ton daily capacity mill started operation March 11, 1958, with end of tun-up period June 30, 1958. Daily average 1958, 2575 tons with average from July-Dec, 3,242 tons per day. Production in 1958 from 738,942 tons milled 1,148,000 lbs uranium oxide. In 3 months ended March 31, 1959, treated 279,562 tons for production. In 1959, mill averaged 3,048 tons per day. In 1959 milled 1,057,847 tons. In 1960 production incorporates all amalgamated statistics of the Rio Algom Mines Ltd. therefore difficult to separate production for this year for the Milliken Mine only. Operations at the Millliken Mine ceased on June 30, 1964. An unsuccessful water leaching program was terminated the next year after yielding only 80,000 pounds of U3O8. In 1975, the property was taken over by Rio Algom Limited. 1976 Rio Algom Limited planned to dewater the mine and widen the shafts.
