Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - Matinenda Formation quartzite with thin radioactive pebble bands. Minor intersections of radioactive quartz pebble conglomerate beds with minor pyrite and radioactivity up to 8 to 10 times the background were encountered in drilling. In one drill hole a 6.8 foot conglomerate bed gave a radiometric reading of 0.013% U3O8. The beds are typically less than 8 inches thick. (OGS 1983 MDC 25 P 69).
