Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - Radioactive shear zone at Keweenawan diabase dike / granite contact. The dike is known as the Roche Dike. The radioactivity was traced for 600 feet along the contact of the dike. One part of the zone showed 17 times background while the average was 2 to 4 times background. Four bulk samples assayed 0.007% U3O8. (OGS 1983 MDC 25 P 38).
