Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of narrow zones of silicification within mafic and intermediate metavolcanic rocks, spatially situated near Proterozoic-aged zones of brecciation and calcite alteration. Occasional splashes of chalcopyrite with alteration rings of chalcocite and malachite are found within the andesite. The minsealization is associated with quartz in cavities and along joint planes.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Scattered blebs and disseminated grains of pyrite and chalcopyrite form three or four mineralized areas about 0.3 m in diamonter within pillowed mafic metavolcanics. Grab samples collected by the OGS in 1968 returned assays of 3.20% Cu, 0.40 oz/t Ag and 0.02 oz/t Au; 2.35% Cu, 0.88 oz/t Ag and 0.12 oz/t Au. Grab samplex collected by Asarco in 1973 returned assays of0.01 oz/t au, 0.13 oz/t Ag and 0.46% Cu. A grab sample collected on the opposite side of the bay returned an assay of 0.02 oz/t Au, 0.35 oz/t Ag and 1.25% Cu. Grab samples collected by Mishibishu Gold Corp in 1989 returned assays as high as 19468 ppm Cu.
