Point Location Description: Shallow pit east of access road

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Drive east along the Scott High Falls Road for 9.9 km to a bush road heading north (just before High Falls). Drive north for 1.7 km to the intersection of a powerline access road. Follow this road approximately 450 m to the pit.



Exploration History

1920's: Valenti et al. - stripping, trenching, shaft sunk to 20 ft. 1975: Asarco Exploration Co - airborne geophysical survey. 1984: Clement and Gratton - ground geophysical survey. 1991: S. Babcock - stripping, mapping, sampling, soil survey.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - An assay of several dollars per ton over a width of 96 inches was obtained from the SE side of the pit. Better commercial values of gold were obtained from the same vein but on the west side of Firesand Creek. Grab samples collected by T. Loughrin in 1926 retuned values rangin from $0.20 Au/t to $1.40 Au/t.

Notes: At the time of the last visit, the vein had been stripped and the shaft was open and exposed. The shaft is unfenced. There is also a shallow pit located approximately 20 m northwest of the shaft
