Point Location Description: Pit in quartz vein to the NE of Dysey's Farm

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: Drive south from highway 101 along the Surluga Road for approximately 10 km. The vein lies within a series of low outcrops to the north of the old farm clearing.



Exploration History

Pre-1927: unknown - stripping, 2 pits sunk, channel sampling. 1962: Villeneuve - 6 ddh (1129 feet).

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies within the Jubilee tuffs. These tuffs are of local importance and are distributed to the east, west and south of the Jubilee Lake Stock. These rocks are andesite to dacite in composition and likely occur between intermediate to mafic and intermediate to felsic metavolcanic rocks of the 2750 Ma cycle.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence reportedly occurs within a large quartz vein that is hosted by a schist. A quartz porphyry is reported to lie to the north of the quartz vein. Numerous drag folded and branching quartz veins are found in the vicinity of the showing.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Where the sulphides are most abundant, needles of arsenopyrite and tourmaline and crystals of pyrite are found in a sericite schist. A published assay for the vein ran 0.45 oz/t Au. Diamond drilling in the vicinity of the showing returned copper values of 0.21%.
