Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Follow the Surluga Road south from highway 101 for a distance of about 6 km to the Deep Lake turnoff. Follow the Deep Lake turnoff to Deep Lake. From the south shore of Deep Lake, follow the old Golden Reed tote road for approximately 2 km to the shaft on the east end of Reed Lake.
1900-1907 - staking. 1907-1908: Golden Reed Mining Company - trenching, stripping, inclined shaft on claim 1239 sunk to 46 feet, 30 foot adit driven west on the vein from the collar of the main shaft. 1971: Pango Gold Mines Ltd. - magnetometer survey, 1 ddh (444 feet). 1986: Caviar Resources Ltd. - magnetometer, VLF survey, geological survey. 1987-89:Citadel Gold Mines Ltd. - mapping.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The Reed Lake Stock is a large but poorly outlined mafic intrusion centred on Reed Lake. The Reed Lake stock and the Jubilee Stock may be connected or related. These intrusive bodies may occupy a conjugate fracture pattern.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The gabbro and granodiorite are massive, medium to lacally coarse-grained and weather green to dark green. Loccaly, shearing is common. The shaft and adit were driven close to the contact between gabbro and granodiorite. A diabase dike traverses the contact between the two rock types at this site. A second inclined shaft was reportedly sunk at the intersection of two quartz veins.
