Access Description: The property is accessible from a few potential access route approaches. 1) From WAWA, travel east on Highway 101 to the (gated) gravel pit @ KM 25, travel on unmarked Dill River Road and extension ATV trail in southwesterly direction, and generally travel parallel to the abandoned Great Lakes Power transmission line ‘right of way’, and parallel to Dill River for about 6 KM towards the property. 2) From WAWA, travel east and then south on Highway 101 to the Wawa OSB Mill plant @ KM 30, travel southwesterly on unmarked Limer Road, past Mill building for about 4 KM, and then travel on old logging roads / trails northerly about 8 KM towards the property. 3) From WAWA, travel east on Highway 101 to unmarked Firesand River Road @ KM 10, then travel south for approximately 5 KM where the road rejoins Firesand River south of Roddy Lake. Cross the river and take a footpath bush trail (now overgrown) easterly about 3 KM towards the property. See Map P 2442. 4) Helicopter - From nearby WAWA airport, charter a helicopter (Wilderness Helicopter) to Dill River landing zone on the property edge. Typical helicopter landing coordinates : 677514 E, 5317629 N. On 13 patented mining (and surface) claims owned by SIERRA Development Services (1999). The site is primarily located north of Dill River.

Exploration History

1939 - Molybdenum mineralization discovered on this property on April 21, by Mike Quilty. 1939 - Falconbridge Mines Ltd sampled the showing and cut 52 channel samples. 1939 - Property owned by L. H. Peters who had Frood Engineer examine property. 1942 - Pax International Mines Ltd. - property acquisition. 1943 - Deep Lake Gold Mines: 13 claims acquired; additional trenching and sampling; 4 bulk samples taken. 1944 - Property surveyed and acquired by surveyor CR Kenny – 13 mining claims. 1955 - Crown Land Grant & Letters Patent dated Oct 12, 1955 – 13 patented claims. 1958 - International Ranwick Limited - optioned property from M.V. Billiton Company, trenching, 3 DDH. 1964 - Algoma Central Railway; mapping. 1958 - International Ranwick Ltd. - sampling and geological mapping, plans for adit drawn up but never completed. 1958 - Billiton Company optioned property; 3 DDH (1896 feet). 1974 - Consolidated Morrison Exploration Ltd. - airborne survey. 1978 - Property acquired by Aldo Palma (SIERRA Development Services). 1978 - Optioned by Amax Minerals Exploration Limited; completed geological, magnetic and stream sediment surveys, stripping, trenching. 1980 - Amax Minerals; 1 DDH (54.7 m); 1979-80 - Amax Minerals; 26 percussion drill holes (735 ft). 1999 - Property transferred (internal sale) to SIERRA Development Services (Current ownership, 2023). 2006 - Property examined, rock sampling and assay lab results by Bjorkman family. 2006 - Property optioned and examined by Go West Amalgamated (Go West Gold). 2013 - The Gow Report mentioned grab sample analyses that returned 1010-6970 ppm Mo (2 samples) in their analysis. One of the three samples from the later analysis also returned 18 ppm Nb. 2014 - OFR 6294 - Site visit and rock sampling (Oct 11, 2013) by District Geologist, A. Pace, MNDM. Assay data show 23-1456 ppm Mo from 3 samples analysis (2014 - Mineralogy report - Lab Test results - MNDM- Geolabs, Sudbury). 2016 - Assessment Report by Marmont and Stott (2016) compiled previous work, performed digitization of previous geophysical surveys and demarking previous exploration work on aerial photographs. A field sampling and mapping program was carried out that resulted collection of a total of 52 grab samples, which were analyzed for 20 elements and returned up to 3.1% Mo (5.18% MoS). One sample with 23.1% Mo also returned 86.14 ppm Re in MoS. An incomplete structural geology work reported highly varying foliations striking from 020 to 220 to 348 at different location, a few of which were noted to be associated with shallow to moderately-dipping fracture-filled veins.

Lithology Comments

Nov 26, 2013 (A Wilson) - The rocks are the trondhjemitic phase of the Whitefish Lake Batholith. Within the granites there are xenoliths of massive mafic metavolcanic rocks and schistose metasedimentary rocks. Diabase dikes cross cut the mineralized zone and lead to the development of a reddish colouration in the trondhjemite. The occurrence lies close to the boundary with the adjacent metavolcanic rocks of the Michipicoten Greenstone Belt. Mineralization is hosted within quartz veins and fractures in trondhjemite. Quartz veins are found within both the trondhjemite and xenoliths of mafic metavolcanics but are more prominent in the trondhjemite. A set of non-mineralized quartz-tourmaline veins cross cut the molybdenite bearing veins.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 26, 2013 (A Wilson) - 1939 - trench in NW corner of property returned 0.313% MoS2 over 22 ft; second trench returned 0.373% MoS2 over 20.6 feet and sample from muck pile returned 0.44% Mo. Bulk samples in 1943 returned 2.65, 4.92, 1.95 and 7.37% MoS2. Mineralization is strongly fracture controlled and occurs as thin books of molybdenite disseminated in wall rock adjacent to fractures, as fracture fillings or as pockets of flakes in fractured quartz veins. Some oxidation to ferro - molybdenite has been observed. A brecciated silicified vuggy shear zone in the NE part of the property contains silver-bearing galena. Some minor molybdenite-bearing pegmatite veins have also been reported.
