Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The Gulch Zone is associated with a strong topographic low which originates near the west end of Stanley Lake. This lineament can be traced NNE for approximately a half mile. This structure meets Wawa lake at a point very close to the Hillside Gold Mines lake Adit. The Gulch Zone is simlar to the Jasper Vein or Zone that hosts the former Mackey Point Mine.

Diorite 1 Diorite To Granodiorite Brecciated Host
Schist-Unsubdivided 2 Host
Intermediate Tuff 3 Dacite To Andesite Tuff Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The zone is located near the eastern margin of the Jubilee Stock. It lies within a contact zone between a heavily brecciated sequence of the Jubilee Stock and intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. Gold mineralization is associated with veins, stringers and boudines within a narrow shear zone.
