Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The veins are hosted within the Jubilee tuffs which are a distinctive package of intermediate composition rocks occurring along the east, south and southwest sides of the Jubilee Lake Stock. These rocks are andesitic to dacitic in composition and likely occur between the mafic to intermediate and intermediate to felsic metavolcanic rocks of the 2nd volcanic cycle. These tuffs are of local distribution only.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Intermediate Tuff 1 Dacite To Andesite Tuff Adjacent
Vein 2 Quartz Host
Diorite 3 Diorite To Granodiorite Host

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The veins are between 3 and 6 feet wide and are composed of a glassy type of quartz. The veins contain numerous inclusions of country rocks and in many places is cut by red flespar-carbonate veinlets. The veins are hosted by the diorite of the Jubilee Stock. The Jubilee Shear hosts the veins.
