Access Description: The occurrence in located approximately 0.5 km northwest of Hanes lake on the Domtar Road.
Very little exploration has been recorded on the Hanes Lake North occurrence There is no data in the assessment files that deals directly with this occurrence. The only known sampling was conducted by the Ontario Geological Survey feild party led by E.C. Grunsky in 1980.

Aug 18, 2010 (A Pace) - Sulphide chert iron formation striking N50W and dip vertically is underlain by mafic to intermediate metavolcanics and overlain by felsic to intermediate lapilli-tuff. This unit is typical of many of the minor sulphide iron formations that occur interlayerd with the mafic to intermediate metavolcanics.

Aug 18, 2010 (A Pace) - The occurrence consists of a rusty weathering, recrystallized sulphide chert iron formation stiking approximately N50W and dip vertically. The chert is sugary and fiable in texture and the unit is approximately 1 m thick. A grab sample collected by the field party indicates 0.10% copper and 1g/ton Gold and trace silver. The sulphides appear as a rusty weathred zone complese of about 10 percent massive pyrite,. Minor chalcopyrite was observed.
