Access Description: The site is accessible via highway 129. The occurrence is located on the east shore of the Aubinadong River approximately 8 km west of highway 129.



Exploration History

1968-70: Canadian Lencourt Mines - sampling, test pits, prospecting. Coulee Lead and Zinc Mines - work reported but not filed.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Uranium minerals occur in a large outcrop of pegmatitic granite and syenite comprised of medium to coarsely crystalline red feldspars with some white feldspar and quartz. The occurrence is located in a cliff face on the east side of the river. Secondary yellow uranium oxides are found along tiny ractures close to the main pitchblende-bearing fractures.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The average uranium content of the best three samples was 0.647 lb U3O8 per ton. Average assays of the six samples was 0.395 lb U3O8 per ton. Pitchblende occurs as fracture fillings 9.5 - 13 mm wide.


Dec 07, 2005 (Q Unknown) - Less than 10mm fractures filled with pitchblende.
