Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies in the Ramsey Lake high strain zone which lies along the east side of Ramsey Lake. This area is the Biscotasing arm of the Swayze greenstone belt and contains rocks that are highly strained and metamorphosed to amphibolite facies. Primary stratigraphic relationships are obscured. Rocks of this Biscotasing area appear to be a southwestward extension of the units exposed in Cunningham ad Blamey township areas.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showining is hosted within a strongly sheared and drag folded, finely bedded, quartzitic metasediment. The zone is about 40 feet west of the contact of the metasediment with the granolidiorite intrusive gneiss. Aplite and granite pegmatite dikes cut the metasediments.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing consists of disseminated pyrite and traces of chalcopyrite in a stronlgy sheared metasediment. A grab sample taken by the OGS in 1962 assayed Ti 0.05-0.5%, Cu 0.01-0.10%, Pb tr, Mn tr, Zr, tr. No gold was detected in the grab sample.

Dec 07, 2005 (Q Unknown) - Copper mineralization varies between 0.01 to 0.1%.
