Access Description: Access is difficult and presently the secondary logging roads at the end of the Mallard Township access road come to within 2km of the iron formation.

Exploration History

1930: The outcrops along the portage between Little Rice Lake and Rice Lake had been stripped by unknown persons. 1982: Granges Exploration carried out a small ground electromagnetic and magnetic survey to locate an airborne anomaly initially located in a government survey. The anomaly was tested with a diamond drill hole which intersected sulphide facies iron formation but no encouraging base or precious metal mineralization. 1988: Blue Falcon Mines Ltd. - AEM, AMag. 2011: Joshua Gold Resources Inc. - prospecting, grab sampling, magnetometer survey.
