Point Location Description: Granges drill hole SW-39.

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Take Dore Road north from the main haul road between the town of Sultan and Highway 144. A road heads east into Benton Twp from a point below the Wakami River in Garnet Twp. This road allows access to the Wakami River in Benton Twp. The showing is located approximately 1 km north of the Wakami River in west central Benton Township.



Exploration History

1977: Granges Exploration Ltd. drilled two holes on a group of claims to the north of the Wakami River in west Benton Township for a combined length of 565'. Hole SW-39 (the subject of this file) intersected sections of dacite tuff and graphitic argillite containing 15-20% graphite. 1981: Canadian Gold and Metals Inc. conducted an airborne electromagnetic survey over Benton, Esther, and parts of Osway and Mallard Townships. 2012: Entourage Metals Ltd. completed prospecting and sampling.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Graphitic argillite sections interbedded with rhyolite, rhyolite tuff, and dacite tuff. Argillite sections contain up to 15-20% graphite and 1-5% pyrite. The graphitic sections are simply described as soft, black, and very friable.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Some sections of graphitic argillite are reported to contain 15-20% graphite with 1-5% pyrite.


Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The drill log reports 1-5% pyrite and 15 - 20% graphite in 4 sections ranging in width from 1.52 to 52.7 m.


Sep 27, 2012 (P Bousquet) - The drill log reports 1-5% pyrite and 15 - 20% graphite in 2 sections ranging in width from 1.61 to 6.83 m.
