Access Description: Take Dore Road north from the main haul road between the town of Sultan and Highway 144. A road heads east into Benton Twp from a point below the Wakami River in Garnet Twp. This road allows access to the Wakami River in Benton Twp. The showing is located approximately 400 m south of the Wakami River in east central Benton Township.
1977: Granges Exploration Ltd. drilled two holes on a group of claims straddling Wakami River in central Benton Township for a combined length of 605'. Hole SW-44, (the subject of this file) intersected sections of graphitic argillite containing 15-20% graphite and 1-5% pyrite. 1981: Canadian Gold and Metals Inc. conducted an airborne electromagnetic survey over Benton, Esther, and parts of Osway and Mallard Townships. 1985: Weaco Resources Ltd carried out an airborne geophysical survey (VLFEM and magnetometer). 1986: Weaco Resources Ltd. carried out mapping, sampling, trenching, and ground geophysics (EM and magnetometer).

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Sections of dacite tuff alternating with graphitic argillite in Granges drill hole SW-44. Several sections, varying in widths from 1-7', contain up to 20% graphite.

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Drill hole reported numerous sections of graphitic argillite in the hole with some sections ranging in width from 1-7' containing 10-20% graphite with minor associated 1-2% disseminated pyrite.
Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The drill log indicates 10-20% graphite in 6 sections ranging in width from 27 to 9 m. In one of these sections, 1-2% pyrite is reported.
Sep 27, 2012 (P Bousquet) - The mineralization stated in the core log is the core logger’s visual estimate.
