Point Location Description: Outcrop of iron formation north shore of Wakami River in Benton Twp.
Location Method: Field Visit with GPS
Access Description: Take Dore Road north from the main haul road between the town of Sultan and Highway 144. A road heads east into Benton Twp from a point below the Wakami River in Garnet Twp. This road allows access to the Wakami River in Benton Twp.
1981: Canadian Gold and Metals Inc. conducted an airborne electromagnetic survey over Benton, Esther, and parts of Osway and Mallard Townships. 1988: Central Crude Ltd. flew an airborne magnetic, electromagnetic, and VLF survey over a large block of claims in the southwest portion of Benton township which included the iron formation showing on the shore of the Wakami River. A geology report on the economic potential of the property and the area was submitted for assessment. 2011: Entourage Metals Ltd. completed a ground geophysical survey (gravity), mapping and sampling.

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Outcrop of Algoma type iron formation. Iron formation is described as non-magnetic with alternating chert and jasper bands which strike at N67W and is about 20' wide.
