Exploration History

1971: Panacea Mining and Exploration Ltd. performed a magnetic and electromagnetic survey over a group of 25 claims registered to John A. Murphy. These claims were located east of the Opeepeesway River in the north central portion of Mallard Township, about 3 claims north of the Ferland-Gauldie-Mogridge showing. The same group of claims was again flown for magnetics later that same year for Claw Lake Molybdenum Mines Ltd. 1979-80: Adeline International Mines Inc. conducted an exploration program over 13 patented and 51 unpatented claims in the central portion of Mallard Twp. Work initially focused on the patented claims but eventually included the unpatented claims and consisted of ground magnetic and VLF geophysical surveys, geological mapping in the north half of the claims, and a rock geochemical survey. A total of 10 drill holes were sunk in the area of the Ferland-Gauldie-Mogridge showing. 1981: Canadian Gold and Metals Inc. conducted an airborne electromagnetic survey over an area that included Benton, Esther, west Mallard, and northwestern Osway Townships. 1985: Blue Falcon Mines Ltd. conducted and airborne magnetic, electromagnetic, and VLF survey over numerous townships which included Mallard Township. 1985: Neville Explorations Ltd. flew an airborne magnetic and VLF survey over an area to the east of the Opeepeesway River which included the Ferland-Gauldie-Mogridge showing. 1987: Cominco Ltd. conducted a ground magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey over a gridded block of 36 claims straddling the Opeepeesway River just north of Satterly Creek.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Showing consists of a rusty-weathering shear zone within andesitic flows to the north and 'light coloured' tuff to the south. The shear was exposed by stripping and trenching over a length of 450 feet (137 m) and a width of 15-30 feet (4.5-9.0 m). The schist is reported to be silicified and carbonatized with an 'abundance' of fine sulphides including pyrite, and lesser amounts of chalcopyrite. Occasional irregular lenses of quartz with widths less than 4 inches are scattered throughout shear zone.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Very fine pyrite with lesser amounts of chalcopyrite are associated with sheared intermediate volcanics. It is reported that the sulphide mineralization exists over almost the entire length of the shear.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by the OGS in 1935 returned values of 0.45 oz/t Au, 0.21 oz/t Au and 0.28 oz /t Au. A grab samples reported by the OGS in 1936 returned values of 0.01 to 0.11 oz/t Au and 1.45 to 4.85 oz/t Ag. Grab samples collected by the OGS in 1994 returned alues of 0.05 g/t Au; 0.08 g/t Au, 0.2 g/t Ag and 6.0 g/t Pt; 2.33 g/t Au, 0.2 g/t Ag; 3.53 g/t Au and 0.7 g/t Ag.

Sep 27, 2012 (P Bousquet) - Among the holes drilled by Adeline International Mines Inc., hole 1 intersected 0.21 oz/ton gold over 13.5ft.

Notes: Large stripped and cleared area exposing well foliated and sheared zone of tuffs and interbedded sediments in contact with what appears to be intermediate volcanics. Tuffs are variably carbonatized and contain scattered pyrite disseminates. A mineralized shear zoned, striking at 320 degrees and dipping 78 degrees to the northeast, contains white quartz veins running parallel to foliation. At several locations the quartz has been trenched and lies in piles at the sides of the trenches. Samples from these locations show various degrees of silicification with associated disseminates and blebs of pyrite and trace chalcopyrite (?) associated with silicification and quartz veins. An area to the northwest of the shear just described contains a large trenched/pitted area with several 'unblown' blast holes visible. The rock in this area is highly rusted and sheared and contains local subparallel < 4 cm. quartz veins containing 5-10% disseminated pyrite. Hand samples reveal crystals and disseminated pyrite to be associated with dark brown alteration and shearing.
