Access Description: Access is by way of the main haul road between the town of Sultan and Highway 144. A road heading north towards Opeepeesway Lake begins at about kilometer 43. The showing can be reached by a 1.5 km traverse east of a point about 2 km south of the old Jerome Mine.

Exploration History

1946-49: Bi-Ore Mines Ltd. conducted a program of trenching and completed 1500' (457 m) of diamond drilling on a group of claims in the southeast corner of Osway Township. The majority of the work was concentrated on the mineralized shear contact between volcanics and sediments. Samples from drill core in these areas are reported to have returned values of 0.17 opt over 5' and 0.57 opt over 2'. 1983-84: Kidd Resources Ltd./Blue Falcon Mines Ltd. conducted a ground magnetic and electromagnetic survey as well as geological mapping over a block of claims which included both the Skye and Bi-Ore showings. 1985: Blue Falcon Mines Ltd. conducted an airborne magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey over several townships including Osway Township. 1986-87: Kidd Resources Ltd. conducted a program of rock stripping and trenching in the areas around the Bi-Ore and Skye showings. This work was followed by a program of 5 diamond drill holes. Two of these holes were drilled in the area of the Bi-Ore showing. Both holes returned predominantly mafic metavolcanics with quartz and quartz-carbonate veinlets with associated sulphides; pyrite, arsenopyrite, and pyrrhotite (T-3094 / 19). 1989: Pioneer Metals Corporation conducted an airborne magnetic and VLF survey over a 17 claim block in an area to the southwest of Opeepeesway Lake. 1991: Noranda Exploration conducted a program of humus and rock sampling which covered the Bi-Ore showing as well as the Skye showing to the northwest. Rock sampling indicated significantly less gold values than previously reported in prior work records. The humus geochemical survey failed to reveal any strike extensions of either the Bi-Ore or Skye showings. 2007: Augen Gold Corp. performed an aerial electromagnetic, aeromagnetic and aerial radiometric surveys (T-5671 / 2.37373). 2008: Augen Gold Corp performed prospecting and assays (T-5852 / 2.40516). 2009-2010: Augen Gold Corp. performed a groung electromagnetic, magnetic survey (T-6137 / 2.46104).

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Mineralized zone is comprised of a highly sheared and carbonatized rock containing irregular patches and lenses of quartz. Between the masses of silicified rock occur zones of rusty weathered schist.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - The sheared and carbonatized rock unit with zones of silicification is reported to be heavily mineralized with pyrite and arsenopyrite. The best assay reported from surface sampling of the trenches is reported to be 0.04 opt. Drilling intersecting the mineralized zone reported generally low gold values, but one section of massive arsenopyrite encountered assayed 0.17 opt over 5' and 0.57 opt over 2'.

Nov 16, 2011 (P Bousquet) - Hole OSW-87-1 intersected mafic metavolcanics with various silicification with arseopyrite which returned assays of 0.024, 0.016 and 0.058 oz/t Au over three feet each (T-3094 / 19). Hole OSW-87-2 intersected also grades of the same level than OSW-87-1 (T-3094 / 19). Augen Gold Corp. took forty-six samples from the Bi-Ore occurrence. Sixteen of them returned a gold assay higher than 0.5 gpt Au, with the highest at 4.25 gpt Au (T-5852 / 2.40516).
