Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The rock exposed on the island is a medium grained slightly flasered, porphyritic, feldspar, quartz granodiorite. The colour varies but generally a light pink - green. The green colour is due to chlorite which forms up to 20% of the rock. Hematite occurs as a filling along fractures in the granodiorite. Arkoses are also reported in the drill logs.
