Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: Hole was drilled from the ice on Opeepeesway Lake.
1949: Jess-Mac GML carried out an exploration program at the east end of Opeepeesway Lake. The program consisted of a magnetometer survey, trenching and 21 hole were diamond drilled including the one listed as this prospect. In the following year a number of additional stratigraphic holes were drilled from the ice. 1961: Jess-Mac GML resumed exploration in the area with a small diamond drill program which was directed towards targets to the northeast. 1961: Worthington Mines continued exploration in the area with a small drill program. Most of the work was directed towards an area to the northwest. 1966: Rio Tinto optioned the property and carried out a magnetic and electromagnetic survey which failed to give any encouragement. 1971: Falconbridge Nickel carried out VL electromagnetic, and magnetic, which covered the prospect. This work indicated that a number of conductors parallel to north east and northwest trending shears were probably intersected in the earlier drilling. 1981: Osway Exploration carried out a magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey which covered the prospect. 2007: Augen Gold Corp. – AEM, AMag, ARAD (T-5671). 2010: Augen Gold Corp. – EM, GC, IP, Mag, Samp.
